Computer Resource Center Opens Today
The first computer technology resource center on the Palos Verdes Peninsula is scheduled to open in Rancho Palos Verdes today, offering a number of computer classes, including reading for the blind and dyslexic.
Most of the equipment at the volunteer-run center has been donated, along with the space at Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall. Founder Ted Vegvari, a Palos Verdes Estates resident and computer consultant, plans to offer basic and advanced computer classes, job training sessions and a mentoring program for high school students.
The center is at 30940 Hawthorne Blvd. The center will be open free through December. In January, six-month memberships will be available to peninsula residents at a cost of $50 for adults and $40 for students; and for $80 and $60, respectively, for nonresidents.
