Dry, Sunny and Cool Days Are Forecast

Unlike the past few days, the weather in the San Fernando Valley will be mostly clear and sunny this week, but may be a little on the cool side.

“Maybe by Thursday, temperatures will be a little cooler than normal,” said Dedric Walker, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard.

A high-pressure system has moved into the region, clearing out the rains from last week. It will continue to dominate the weather for the next few days. Thursday’s temperatures will be lower because of a weak, low-pressure trough that will bring ocean breezes into the area.

But that trough is not expected to bring rain into the area, Walker said.

Meanwhile, the region can expect light off-shore breezes--heading toward the ocean--until Thursday. Those winds will keep late-night and early morning fog and low clouds out of the Valley.

High temperatures will be in the 70s and low 80s until Thursday, when they are expected to drop to the upper 60s to 70s. High temperatures across the Valley on Monday will be in the mid- to upper-70s, Walker said.
