Residents Invited to Thanksgiving Dinner

Share

Local residents are invited to celebrate Thanksgiving Day with a feast at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Ojai from noon to 3 p.m.

The feast, in the church’s Aquinas Center at Maricopa Highway and El Roblar Drive, was started 15 years ago to provide a holiday celebration for residents whose families live far away or are otherwise unable to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

“We look forward to welcoming not just members of our parish, but anyone in the community as well, to share in giving thanks and to enjoy a great meal and warm fellowship,” said Pat Kastner, coordinator of the dinner.

The feast, prepared and served by parishioners, will include oven-roasted turkey with dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, other cooked vegetables, champagne and sparkling cider.

More than 150 diners are served by church parishioners every Thanksgiving, organizers said.

The dinner is free, but donations will be accepted. Reservations are encouraged. For reservations or more information, call Kastner at 646-4338.
