Obituaries : Irma Kulpaca; 10,000-Hour Auxiliary Volunteer

Irma Kulpaca, a longtime Ventura resident who donated more than 10,000 hours volunteering for the Ventura County Medical Center Auxiliary, died Sunday in a Santa Barbara convalescent hospital after a brief illness. She was 84.

She was born Jan. 29, 1912, in Red Lodge, Mont.

Kulpaca moved to Ventura County 53 years ago from South Dakota. She worked for Lerner’s dress shop for 17 years as a sales clerk, retiring in 1961. In retirement, she donated her time working in the auxiliary’s gift shop.

Daughter Patricia Duncan preceded her in death earlier this year as did her husband, Albert Charles Kulpaca, in 1983.

Survivors include granddaughter Kendra Duncan of Santa Barbara and grandson Mark Duncan of Ben Lomond.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ventura County Unit of the American Cancer Society, 121 N. Joanne St., Ventura 93003.

Private family services were held at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park.

Arrangements were handled by Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura.
