The Orange County Chapter of the American Red Cross is seeking companies and organizations to conduct holiday toy drives to benefit homeless and low-income families.
The chapter hopes to collect 10,000 new, unwrapped toys by Dec. 21 for its 1996 Holiday Project.
The children and families who will attend a party that day will be selected by principals of elementary schools in Santa Ana, Anaheim and Garden Grove, officials said.
“This is a way to make the holidays a time to remember for children who, without our help, wouldn’t have anything,” said Penny Hughes, Red Cross volunteer director.
