Arrowhead Christian 44, Flintridge Prep 14--The Rebels (6-5) could not handle the double-wing offense of Arrowhead Christian (12-0) at South Pasadena High.
The Eagles gained 463 yards--all on the ground. Jonathan Reed led the assault by gaining 248 yards in 19 carries and scoring on runs of one and 27 yards.
Flintridge Prep rushed for only 27 yards. Sophomore quarterback J.P. Blecksmith completed 12 of 26 passes for 168 yards, with one touchdown and one interception.
Blecksmith’s 28-yard scoring pass to Peter Twist with 57 seconds left in the first quarter cut Arrowhead’s lead to 8-7, the closest the Rebels would get. Twist finished with six receptions for 78 yards.
Arrowhead Christian scored 36 consecutive points to build a 44-7 lead until Blecksmith scored on a one-yard run with 1:25 to play.
