Share

Site--Forum.

Time--7:30.

TV--Prime Sports West, TNT.

Records--Lakers 13-7, Magic 8-6.

Record vs. Magic (1995-96)--1-1.

Laker update--The hectic schedule hasn’t eased, but the Lakers should at least be getting rest. No starter played more than 33 minutes in Wednesday’s blowout loss at Utah and only four Lakers played as many as 26. That was followed by a practice-free Thursday. Kobe Bryant is quickly aging, though. He dropped from the record books and became the second-youngest player in NBA history Thursday night when Jermaine O’Neal, about 10 weeks his junior, made his debut for Portland. The Lakers’ toy drive continues tonight and the next two home games. Fans can bring new, unwrapped gifts and drop them off when entering the building for distribution through three charity groups.

Magic update--The record is probably better than Orlando had a right to expect, considering all of the injuries and the loss of a dominant big man, but this week has been a disaster: First, the Magic blew a nine-point lead in the final 2:22 of regulation against Dallas and lost in overtime, then they scored 57 points against Cleveland. Clifford Rozier was waived Thursday to clear a roster spot for the return of Penny Hardaway.
