Woman Identified in Hot Tub Death
Authorities have released the name of a 24-year-old woman who drowned Saturday after passing out in a hot tub at a Thousand Oaks home.
Olivia Aguirre Hernandez of Santa Fe Springs died Saturday afternoon at a home on the 1100 block of Waverly Heights Drive after spending nearly five hours in the 105- to 107-degree water.
A coroner’s spokesman said Hernandez, who worked as an exotic dancer, lost consciousness and slipped under the water after contracting hyperthermia--a dangerous increase in body temperature.
Police are continuing to investigate the death, but the case is being treated as an accident.
