Following a car chase, a leap from a moving vehicle and a tussle with police, a Port Hueneme woman was arrested by Oxnard and Port Hueneme officers on narcotics charges Wednesday, authorities said.

Police said they had been searching for 41-year-old Pamela Hall on suspicion of selling drugs. There was also a felony warrant for her arrest on a separate narcotics matter.

At 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers saw Hall driving in the Channel Islands area near C Street and attempted to make a traffic stop, according to police. They said Hall pulled over for the black-and-white police vehicle, but when the officers approached her car, she sped off down C Street.

The officers returned to their car and chased Hall through the streets of Oxnard, authorities said. Eventually she headed to Park Avenue south of Bard Road, to what police believe is the home of a relative.

As Hall neared the residence, she leaped from the moving car, which still had the keys in the ignition and the engine running, police said. Her vehicle crashed into a parked car nearby.

She sprinted toward the house but officers chased her down, police said. After a fight, Hall was taken into custody, they said, adding that officers found a small amount of rock cocaine and heroin in Hall’s possession when they arrested her.

Hall was treated at Ventura County Medical Center for injuries, which she said she sustained during the struggle, before being transported to the Oxnard police station.

She was booked into Ventura County Jail. Bond is posted at $2,000.
