Radio Station Offers Traffic Information
Beverly Hills officials are taking to the airwaves to provide 24-hour information about traffic, parking and street closures in the city.
Launched this month, listeners tuned to the city-owned station WPIE-AM (1500) can hear the latest on the availability of parking spaces in city-owned lots, operating hours, cost, discounts and seasonal parking restrictions. The station, operated out of City Hall, also gives information about the city’s shuttle services and bus trips to Los Angeles museums.
The city is working on a plan to broadcast information during a disaster, according to City Councilman Les Bronte.
