Wilson Names Entertainment Promoter to Air Quality Board

Share

Gov. Pete Wilson on Friday announced the appointment of Cody G. Cluff of Covina, who has held a variety of community service positions, to the South Coast Air Quality Management District board.

Republican Wilson named Cluff following the refusal last March by the Democratic-controlled state Senate to confirm an earlier Wilson appointee to the position, Hugh Hewitt, a conservative radio and television commentator in Los Angeles.

Cluff, 38, a Republican, is president of Entertainment Industry Development Corp., a nonprofit joint venture with the city and county of Los Angeles to promote the entertainment industry in Southern California.

He served in a similar capacity as a deputy to Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan from 1993 to 1995, and in earlier years with the Economic Development Corp. and the Community Air Quality Task Force.
