An El Rio man who allegedly rammed several women’s cars, forcing one of them off the road before sexually assaulting her, pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of rape, attempted rape and assault.

Silverio Ambriz, a 31-year-old farm worker, pleaded not guilty to the 13 charges leveled against him in Ventura County Municipal Court, said his court-appointed attorney, Gary Windom.

Ambriz was arrested Nov. 28 after allegedly ramming his truck into a 24-year-old woman’s car and then trying to assault her after she got out to check the damage.

Ambriz is also charged with bumping the car of an 18-year-old woman, whose car overturned. He then allegedly raped the woman after pulling her from the wreckage.

He allegedly rammed a third car as well, with all the incidents occurring along California 118 between Camarillo and Moorpark.

Ambriz is being held in the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $500,000.

His trial is set for Feb. 5, Windom said.
