Holiday Closings
Wednesday is New Year’s Day. The following is a holiday schedule:
* All city, county, state and federal offices: Closed.
* County, state and federal courthouses: Closed.
* City and county libraries: Closed.
* Banks and savings and loans: Closed. However, today most banks will be open until 4 p.m. Call your bank for specific schedule.
* Schools: There will be no classes at primary or secondary schools through Jan. 6. Most colleges and universities will be closed through Jan. 2. Call individual schools for details.
* Mail: There will be no mail delivery. All post offices will be closed, and mail deposited in mailboxes will be picked up according to the posted holiday schedule.
* Trash: There will be no trash pickup by city or county refuse workers. Trash pickups will be a day late for the rest of the week in unincorporated areas of the county and in most cities. In Anaheim, Buena Park, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Placentia, Villa Park and Yorba Linda Wednesday and Thursday pickups will be collected on Thursday and regularly scheduled collections will resume Friday.
* Buses: Orange County Transportation Authority buses will run on the holiday schedule. There will be no dial-a-ride or carpool services available.
* Parks: All city- and county-run parks and recreation facilities will be open during regular hours.
