King update--Despite starting the game without Ray Ferraro and Ian Laperriere and losing Yanic Perreault, Aki Berg and Doug Zmolek during the game because of injuries, the Kings were able to defeat Calgary, 3-2, on Monday. This is the second of a four-game trip. San Jose has 14 goals in two games against the Kings, including a 7-2 win at San Jose on Jan. 22.

Shark update--Ulf Dahlen had a goal, Michal Sykora an assist and Chris Terreri 38 saves as the three former Sharks helped Chicago to a 4-2 victory over San Jose on Monday. Goaltender Ed Belfour, the central figure in the trade with Chicago, has a right-knee injury and is expected to be out at least two weeks. San Jose is led by Owen Nolan, who has 22 goals and 44 points.
