‘Un Coeur en Hiver (A Heart in Winter)’

Once again, French director Claude Sautet succeeds in finding romantic entanglements in the well-upholstered lives of the bourgeoisie. Gregarious and sure of himself, Maxime (Andre Dussolier), proprietor of a prestigious violin repair shop, has fallen in love with a beautiful young violinist (Emmanuelle Beart, pictured). But she and Maxime’s employee (Daniel Auteuil, pictured), a meticulous craftsman, are apparently on the same wavelength. This 1993 release proves its statement, “feelings can’t be demystified,” with every scene (Bravo Monday at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m.; Tuesday at 1 p.m.)
