Woods’ Father Talked Him Into Playing
Tiger Woods said his father, Earl Woods, had surgery Sunday night, four days after undergoing a triple bypass heart operation, and Tiger considered pulling out of the Nissan Open.
“I thought I shouldn’t play and my dad said, ‘What are you going to do to help me?’ ” Woods said Tuesday. “There is nothing I can do. I’m not a doctor. I am just going to play and try to have fun . . . and get on TV so he can see me.”
The elder Woods, 64, might still be released from UCLA Medical Center by the end of the week.
“Golf is not my No. 1 priority right now,” Tiger Woods said.
