The Clippers exercised their option on point guard Darrick Martin’s contract for next season.

“I’m happy,” Martin said. “I’ll leave it at that. To play at home for another year, that’s lovely.”

Martin, who missed seven of eight shots and had six points, five assists and four rebounds in Wednesday night’s 83-80 victory at Vancouver, averaged 14.1 points, 5.4 assists and 26.5 minutes in his first 34 starts, compared to 5.1 points, 1.8 assists and 10.7 minutes as a reserve.

“I think he’ll be around for many, many more options,” Clipper Coach Bill Fitch said.

Forward Rodney Rogers, who broke his nose when he was elbowed by Allen Iverson in Tuesday night’s victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, underwent plastic surgery at Daniel Freeman Marina Hospital..

Rogers’ nose will be placed in a splint after he is fitted with a mask.

“He’s going to have a mask like those guys wear at San Antonio,” Fitch said. “I told Bo [Charles Outlaw] that he could get one of those masks and go with Rodney and then go rob banks on off days.”

Rogers, who started the Clippers first 50 games before losing his job to Outlaw after a reported dispute with Fitch at practice last Saturday, is listed as possible for Friday night’s game against the Toronto Raptors.
