Fire Services Offering Volunteer Training
The city’s Fire Services Department is offering a series of emergency preparedness courses beginning this month.
The classes train volunteers from the community and local businesses to help emergency services workers in large-scale emergencies and natural disasters.
Classes include Disaster Medical Aid, Search and Rescue, Disaster Psychology and CPR Training.
Students who complete five core classes are designated as Certified Brea CARES Emergency Volunteers and can respond to emergency situations. The program’s title, CARES, stands for Community Assistance and Response to Emergency Situations.
Most classes are conducted by Fire Services personnel at Brea Fire Station 3, 400 N. Kraemer Blvd. Information: (714) 990-7622.
