In nonleague baseball:

Garden Grove 4, Villa Park 3--After Garden Grove (1-4) scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth, Villa Park (2-4) scored three in the seventh before reliever Justin Clarkson got final out with the tying run on third.

Newport Harbor 5, Dana Hills 4--Chris Blevins hit a two-run homer in the fifth and Danny Pulido had a two-run single in the sixth to highlight a three-run sixth for the visiting Sailors (2-3).

Chris Weber hit a home run in the bottom of the seventh for Dana Hills (3-2).

Trabuco Hills 5, Corona del Mar 4 (9)--Eric Bowden scored the winning run for Trabuco Hills on Graham Robby’s two-out single in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The Mustangs (3-2) trailed, 4-3, in the bottom of the seventh inning, when Billy Ortiz doubled. Ortiz stole third and scored the tying run on a wild pitch.

In nonleague golf:

Orange 198, St. Margaret’s 198--Jimmy Freeman shot a 34 on the par-32 River View course for Orange (0-1-1).

In nonleague softball:

Buena Park 5, Bolsa Grande 4--Dana Galeener and Angela Alfaro each hit triples to highlight a five-run fourth for visiting Buena Park (5-3). Mary Petrie hit two home runs and a double for Bolsa Grande (4-3).

El Toro 2, Marina 0--Suzanne Guy allowed only a one-out single in the top of the sixth, then the Chargers (6-2), ranked seventh in the county, scored two unearned runs in the bottom half of the inning.

Rosary 4, Fountain Valley 2--Rosary scored four runs in the second inning and pitcher Christy Ledford held on as the Royals upset fifth-ranked Fountain Valley. Erin Conners hit a two-out, two-run single in the fourth to break a tie and give Rosary (3-4) a 3-1 lead.

Laura Fulton was four for four with an RBI and two stolen bases for Rosary.

Sonora 6, Whittier Christian 5--Jackie Andersen singled in Jennifer Link for the winner in the bottom of the seventh for Sonora (8-1). Link, who scored four runs, singled and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Erika Lewis to set up the winning run. Andersen had two RBIs.

Sunny Hills 2, Orange 1 (9 innings)--Susan Kim hit the winner to single in Stephanie Newhouse in the bottom of ninth for Sunny Hills.

In nonleague boys’ tennis:

Sonora 10, Valencia 8--Chris Tobolski swept in singles, 6-4, 7-5, 6-1, for host Valencia (2-2).

Woodbridge 9, Palos Verdes Peninsula 9 (Woodbridge wins on games, 83-78)--David Lingman’s 6-1 victory over Peninsula’s Eric Basica clinched nine sets for Woodbridge and the Warriors held on to defeat Peninsula, ranked second in Southern Section Division I. Lingman lost only three games in singles and swept, 6-2, 6-1, 6-0.

Tuesday’s game was a rematch of last season’s Division I finals, when Woodbridge defeated Peninsula, 10-8.

Adam Artunian also helped the Warriors (6-0), ranked first in Division I and Orange County, by sweeping, 6-4, 7-5, 6-2.

The doubles team of Brandon Shainfeld and Greg Levy, who reached last year’s individual quarterfinals, struggled and won only one set for the Warriors, 6-2, 1-6, 3-6.

In nonleague boys’ volleyball:

Orange 3, Servite 2--Matt Garcia had 21 kills as Orange survived a 2-0 deficit to defeat Servite, 10-15, 10-15, 15-5, 15-12, 15-12. Orange is 3-1.

Santa Margarita 3, Esperanza 1--The Eagles, ranked third in the county, beat the top-ranked Aztecs, 16-14, 16-14, 10-15, 15-9. Tim Gerlach had 21 kills and 11 blocks and Nick Mauro added 18 kills and 11 blocks for visiting Santa Margarita (3-0). Esperanza is 2-1.
