Suspension Ends for Daigneault

Share

It’s not so often a team on a 12-game unbeaten streak shakes up its lineup, but the Ducks will make an exception for defenseman J.J. Daigneault, who has completed his 10-game NHL suspension and will play tonight against Colorado.

“I’ll survive. I’ll be OK,” Daigneault said. “But that’s a good test for me. I’m going to have to be ready.”

Daigneault stabilized the defense after being acquired from Pittsburgh on Feb. 21, but played only two games before being suspended for “abuse of official” for hitting referee Don Koharski with his stick Feb. 23.

Defenseman Jason Marshall will sit out tonight because of a sore finger, but players such as rookie Darren Van Impe will probably take turns as well.

Center J.F. Jomphe is concerned about the possibility of abdominal surgery after trying to play through a groin injury.
