Library Classes Offer Help for Internet Rookies

Computer novices, business people and job seekers may sign up for Internet classes offered this month at the Huntington Beach Central Library, 7111 Talbert Ave.

A basic class on exploring the World Wide Web will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday in Meeting Room B. The session, which costs $10, is designed for those who have little or no experience with the “information superhighway.”

For parents with children using the Internet for researching school reports, a separate class will cover tutorials, safety issues and interesting educational sites. The fee is $10 for one adult and a child, and $5 for each additional child. The class will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. April 12 in the Maddy Room.

Those seeking information about using computers to make customer contacts may take a class titled, “How the Internet Can Help Your Business.” The class will also cover how to plan a Web site. The fee is $15 for the session, which will be in Meeting Room B from 7 to 8:30 p.m. April 14.

And “Careers in Cyberspace or Thereabouts” will show how to put a resume on-line, describe careers in Web design or consulting, and give tips on researching jobs by computer. The $10 class will be in Meeting Room B from 7 to 8:30 p.m. April 21.
