Kemp’s Troubles Continue
Shawn Kemp, the SuperSonics’ all-star forward, was fined an undisclosed amount for failing to notify the team he would miss Friday’s practice.
Team President Wally Walker announced the fine Saturday before Seattle’s game against the Dallas Mavericks, and said that Kemp would not start for the fourth consecutive game for missing practice.
Kemp, who has been struggling for three weeks, played a season-low seven minutes and equaled a season low with three points as the SuperSonics cruised to a 103-84 victory over the Mavericks.
After the game, Kemp said he would meet with reporters Monday or Tuesday to answer questions about his recent behavior, which includes missing a team flight and a team meeting.
