Authorities were searching late Sunday night for two suspects in a shooting that left two people wounded in Ventura.

About 9:20 p.m., Ventura police were called to an apartment in the 200 block of Wall Street. Inside, they found a man and a woman who had been shot.

The man, who was wounded in the abdomen, was admitted to a local hospital, but his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, authorities said. The woman was shot in the arm and was treated and released.

The names and ages of the victims were not available.

Authorities said they are seeking two black males seen running from the area and leaving in a small white truck.

Tina McCoy and her son, Zack, who live near the apartment building, were watching a video at the time of the shooting.

“We heard bam, bam, bam, bam, bam,” said Zack, 15. “Usually, we’d run to the door to see what’s wrong. But we didn’t want to because there were so many shots.”
