Dean Tavoularis is an production designer whose films include "The Godfather" and "Apocalypse Now."

I smell something terrible. Whoever buys the Dodgers may do any number of things with the surrounding area, excluding nothing. I suspect that some kind of growth will be triggered. I would hope that economics would not be the cause of irreparable damage.

I am not naive: Tax structures, greed and economic reality have destroyed great architecture and millions of acres of beautiful landscape. The insatiable need for a CityWalk with a Hard Rock Cafe and some rides is the terrible thing that I smell. I would hope that this area can be left as it is, or improved with some gentle landscaping, including paths and picnic areas.
