Costa Mesa’s Schwartz Wins Scratch Main

Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event at Friday night’s speedway at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

John Aden of Apple Valley was second, followed by La Habra’s Robert Pfetzing, Mike Faria of Apple Valley and Steve Lucero of Costa Mesa.

In the eight-lap handicap main, Adan finished first, Jerry Black of San Bernardino was second and Faria was third. Pfetzing was fourth in that event and Schwartz finished seventh.

In the four-lap sidecar main event, Bob Brayton of Midway City and Parke Weaver of Azusa teamed for the victory.
