March Restaurant Closures

The county Department of Health Services has the power to shut down food facilities for as long as necessary for the owners to correct conditions that pose a danger to the public health. Here is a list of the restaurants closed during March.

* ABC Chinese Fast Food--754 S. Vermont Ave., L.A. Closed 3/31 and remains closed.* Unsanitary equipment, insufficient ventilation.

* Belmont Station--5300 E. 2nd St., Long Beach. Closed 3/19; reopened same day. Sewage system failure.

* Boarding House--2619 Main St., Santa Monica. Closed 3/27 and remains closed.* No public health permit.

* Bombay Bicycle Club--321 S. First St., Burbank. Closed 3/18 to 3/19. Poor general sanitation, improper sanitizing or storage of multiuse utensils.

* Cafe de Nova--711 S. Westmoreland Ave., L.A. Closed 3/25; reopened same day. Unprotected food, unsanitary equipment, poor general sanitation.

* Costa Brava Restaurant--7028 Pacific Blvd., Huntington Park. Closed 3/24 to 3/27. Poor general sanitation, no public health permit, unsanitary equipment.
