Meetings Will Address Utility Tax Measure

City officials will conduct six public meetings to explain the impacts of Proposition 218 on San Clemente’s general fund and the City Council’s decision to put Measure A, a 2.5% utility tax, on the June 3 ballot.

The meetings are designed to give residents facts about recent budget cuts, additional potential cuts and the proposed utility tax. The one-hour sessions will include time for questions.

The sessions will be on April 29 at the Community Center; May 5 at Palisades Methodist Church; May 6 at Concordia Elementary School; May 23 at Shorecliffs Middle School; May 27 at Clarence Lobo Elementary School, and May 29 at Truman Benedict Elementary School.

The first session will begin at 7 p.m. All others will begin at 6:30 p.m.
