Free Seminar Offered for Cancer Patients

Share

Cancer patients experiencing difficulty coming up with the words to tell their children about the disease may benefit from a free seminar sponsored by the Wellness Community-Valley/Ventura.

The seminar, titled “How to Talk to Children About Cancer,” will be held from 7 to 9 tonight at the Wellness Community’s office, 530 Hampshire Road, in Thousand Oaks.

Led by Carolyn Rusell, an oncology social worker at Salick Specialty Hospital in Westlake Village, the workshop will show patients how to deal with their children’s fears honestly and with empathy, and ways to balance an individual’s needs with those of other family members.
