Two Girls Die in Apparent Robbery
Two young clerks at a Clarksville, Tenn., ice cream store who apparently had been kidnapped during a robbery were found dead, police said. A detective found the bodies of Michelle Mace, 16, and Angela Holmes, 21, in a state nature preserve about two miles from the Baskin-Robbins where they worked. The cause of death was not disclosed. The young women’s disappearance had been discovered late Wednesday when Michelle’s mother arrived to pick up her daughter after work. The cash drawer and the safe were open, and money had been taken. The store had a surveillance camera, but the tape had been taken from it, police said.
