A monthlong investigation by local and federal authorities led to the seizure of more than $45,000 worth of methamphetamine and resulted in the arrest of two men suspected of transporting the drug into Ventura County from Long Beach.
On Thursday, local narcotics officers and FBI agents watched as 22-year-old David Gerry Gonzalez of Carson and 28-year-old Lincoln Abraham Moaalii of Long Beach conducted an alleged narcotics transaction in a parking lot at Esplanade Drive and Vineyard Avenue, said Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Arnie Aviles.
A search of their vehicle turned up methamphetamine with a street value of $45,400, authorities said. The men were arrested and booked into County Jail on suspicion of drug possession and sale, as well as criminal conspiracy.
Bail for Gonzalez was $100,000, and Moaalii’s bail was $20,000, according to a jail spokeswoman.
