Spurs Win Big With Top Pick
A franchise-worst 20-62 season had a great ending Sunday for the San Antonio Spurs--an NBA lottery victory and the prospect of a frontcourt featuring David Robinson and Wake Forest’s Tim Duncan, the player expected to be the No. 1 draft choice.
Philadelphia got the No. 2 pick and Boston got the third choice.
Vancouver, which was not eligible for the top pick under its expansion agreement, dropped to fourth and Denver will select fifth. After that the order stayed as statistically expected. Boston got the sixth pick thanks to a trade with Dallas. New Jersey was seventh followed by Golden State, Toronto, Milwaukee, Sacramento, Indiana and Cleveland.
