Trevor Julian of Harvard-Westlake High and Don Killian of Loyola have been named boys’ volleyball co-players of the year in the Mission League. Julian has committed to USC; Killian to Pepperdine.

Junior right-hander Ismael Marin of Chatsworth has been selected West Valley League player of the year. Marin was 10-1 in 11 starts, losing to El Camino Real in the City Section 4-A Division semifinals.

Monroe senior catcher Lupe Brambila was selected Mid-Valley League softball player of the year.

Brambila batted .547 with nine home runs, 32 runs batted in and 20 stolen bases to lead Monroe (11-9) to the City 4-A quarterfinals.

Veronica Ramos of Van Nuys has been named East Valley League softball player of the year.

Ramos batted .508 with five doubles, four triples, three home runs, 26 RBIs, 29 runs and 14 stolen bases for the Wolves (11-9).

El Camino Real senior catcher Ramona Shelburne was selected West Valley League softball player of the year.

Shelburne batted .479 with seven doubles, four triples, two home runs and 26 RBIs to lead the Conquistadores (19-3) to the City 4-A title.

Pitcher Kim Diener of Alemany was named Mission League softball most valuable player.

Diener, a junior, was 22-4 with an 0.72 earned-run average and batted .482 for the league-champion Indians.

Mauren LeCocq, a Chaminade sophomore, was named the league’s most valuable pitcher. She helped the Eagles (18-8) to second place despite playing the last month of the season with a broken finger.

Quartz Hill pitcher Jodie Cox has been selected Golden League softball player of the year. The sophomore was 14-5 with 178 strikeouts in 123 1/3 innings and batted .481 in leading the Rebels (18-8) to a co-championship with Palmdale.

Crescenta Valley third baseman Hope Robertshaw was named Pacific League softball most valuable player. The senior batted .368 with eight doubles, five triples and 16 RBIs to help the Falcons (21-7) finish second behind Hoover.
