Man Hurt in Factory Shooting Goes Home

The Thousand Oaks man wounded in the Santa Fe Springs shooting last week returned home Tuesday in good spirits, his family said.
Michael Gann, 30, was one of four people wounded Thursday at Omni Plastics, when a factory inspector went on a shooting spree after arguing with his superiors. Two employees were killed and the gunman, Daniel S. Marsden, later killed himself, police say.
After failing to remove a bullet lodged in Gann’s pelvic area Friday, doctors at Whittier Hospital Medical Center successfully extracted the slug Sunday.
“He’s walking a little slow, but he’s doing much better,” said Gann’s sister-in-law, Misty. “He hopes to get back to work in the next couple of weeks. He’s going stir-crazy.”
Gann, a salesman for American MSI Corp. in Moorpark, was visiting the Santa Fe Springs plant when the shooting occurred.
