Hang Glider Pilot Airlifted After Crash
A hang glider whose craft went down on a mountaintop near here Saturday was taken to Simi Valley Hospital complaining of back pain, according to a Ventura County Fire Department spokeswoman.
The man was alert, according to a nursing supervisor, but in serious condition Saturday evening.
Fire Department officials declined to identify the hang glider.
The glider crashed at Oat Mountain about 3:30 p.m. A county helicopter transported him to the hospital. He was conscious the entire time, according to the Fire Department spokeswoman.
