Stretch of Road to Close Down
Motorists who travel a nearly one-mile stretch of Anaheim Boulevard between State College Boulevard and Katella Avenue that parallels the Santa Ana Freeway will have to find another route beginning next week.
That section of road will close permanently as part of the Santa Ana Freeway widening project. Detour signs will assist motorists to State College and Katella.
The closure will allow for the addition of car-pool lanes on the freeway. When the freeway improvements are completed in 2000, a new three-lane frontage road, named Anaheim Way, will open for northbound motorists. This new road will improve freeway operations and enhance traffic circulation on city streets, county transportation officials said.
The $1.1-billion freeway widening project began last December. Information: (714) 724-2077.
