Council to Hold Night Meeting to Accommodate Residents
For the first time in Los Angeles’ history, the City Council will meet in the evening Wednesday in Cheviot Hills.
At the request of Councilwoman Ruth Galanter, who represents the area, the council meeting will begin at 7 p.m.--rather than 10 a.m.--to accommodate working residents and others who can’t attend the council’s daytime sessions.
The meeting will also feature representatives from several key city departments--including animal services, building and safety, transportation and the Department of Water and Power--so that residents’ concerns in those areas can be addressed. In addition, several nonprofit groups will have information booths at the meeting.
The meeting will be held at the Cheviot Hills Recreation Center, 2551 Motor Ave.
