Thuggery Is One Role Young Fans Can’t Model

NEW YORK POST

The bottom line is that the Sprewell incident is about the rules of life; how human beings treat each other.

It’s not really about the NBA’s labor contract or incomprehensible salary cap.

Sprewell was paid $32 million. All his home games were televised. Kids in the Bay Area wore his number. He was a role model.

If he could get away with using violence, or gain a better team and a better contract by beating up his coach, it would be an awful message to schoolyard players wearing his number.
