Woman Pleads Not Guilty in Death of Daughter
A 30-year-old Rancho Palos Verdes woman pleaded not guilty Monday in Torrance Superior Court to a charge of second-degree murder in the death of her 4-year-old daughter.
Roya Dalili sobbed as she entered the plea in connection with the death of her daughter, Natalie.
On March 3, mother and daughter plunged out of a 10th-floor window of the Torrance Marriott Hotel. The girl was killed; the mother suffered a fractured pelvis and other severe injuries. She appeared in court Monday strapped to a gurney.
Judge William R. Hollingsworth Jr. set the next hearing in the case for Jan. 12 and a trial for Feb. 13.
