Iowa State Coach Tim Floyd was listed in fair condition Wednesday after surgery to remove a benign polyp from his colon.

Floyd, 43, was expected to remain at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa for another day and could return to coaching for Saturday’s game against Alaska Anchorage in the Cyclone Holiday Classic.

Assistant Gar Forman will run this week’s practices.

Responding to a players’ vote to force him out, UC Santa Barbara Coach Jerry Pimm says he won’t resign, adding, “I just told them that’s not going to happen and we’ve got to come up with more conclusions and lets talk it out.”
