Teemu Selanne adopted his off-season persona of “Teddy Flash” and spent part of Tuesday afternoon racing a go-cart at a track in the City of Industry. The Fox Network filmed him for a between-periods segment on a telecast later this season.
Selanne, who races rally cars in his native Finland in the summer, posted the third-fastest time in the track’s history.
“It’s a lot of fun,” he said. “A few more years in hockey, then I change my name to Teddy Flash for good.”

Selanne continues to be second among wingers in voting for the World All-Star team. He trails Pittsburgh’s Jaromir Jagr by about 67,000 votes.
The top two wingers will start for the World team against a team of players from North America in the Jan. 18 All-Star Game at Vancouver.

Enforcer Brent Severyn skated with his teammates for the first time since suffering a herniated disk in his back. He hasn’t played in the past 24 games, but hopes to return in time for the Ducks’ six-game trip after Christmas.
“I’ve had it up to here with this [injury],” Severyn said. “I’ve said ‘Uncle’ already. This was my first time out there with the other guys. I was going up to them, saying, ‘Hi, I’m Brent.’ ”
