27 Holiday Travelers Die in Bus Accident

A bus carrying holiday travelers through the Peruvian Andes struck a rock and tumbled 500 feet down a mountainside, killing 27 people and injuring 36. The crash happened 120 miles east of Lima in Peru’s central Andes mountains. The bus was bound for the Andean city of Ayacucho when it struck a large rock that had been washed onto the road by heavy rains.
