Douglas’ 56 Not Enough for Bell-Jeff

Ruben Douglas set a tournament record with 56 points but it wasn’t enough for Bell-Jeff High, which lost to West Bakersfield, 93-79, in the 13th-place game of the Hart boys’ basketball tournament on Tuesday.

Douglas made 18 of 20 free throws and two three-point baskets. He scored 37 points in the second half as Bell-Jeff (7-6) tried to rally from a 45-30 halftime deficit.
