SPARKS TONIGHT
Opponent--Cleveland Rockers.
Site--Gund Arena, Cleveland.
Time--4:30 PDT.
TV--ESPN.
Records--Sparks 2-3, Rockers 1-3.
Update--Spark Coach Linda Sharp hopes her players run their offense better than they navigate. Their team hotel is two blocks from Gund Arena, yet when they walked to practice Wednesday, they got lost. Both teams are coming off defeats, the Sparks in overtime at Houston on Monday and the Rockers at Charlotte on Sunday. Cleveland suffered a blow--veteran guard Michelle Edwards is out indefinitely because of a hyperextended knee. After tonight, the Sparks will have seen all seven WNBA opponents (they played Phoenix in a preseason scrimmage). Lisa Leslie had 21 points and 16 rebounds at Houston and leads the league in rebounding (10.4 per game). She’s second in scoring (18.2). Cleveland’s most productive player is 6-foot-5 Frenchwoman Isabelle Fijalkowski (14.8 points, 5.8 rebounds). Los Angeles plays at Charlotte on Saturday.
