Rapist Sought in Early Morning Attack Outside Home

Authorities are searching for a rapist who attacked a 27-year-old Altadena woman last week outside her home at 1 a.m.

On Monday, sheriff’s detectives said the rapist might strike again and urged people with information about the attack to contact authorities.

Last Tuesday, a woman returned to her home in 400 block of Marigold Avenue and saw a man looking through her window, Deputy Carrie Stuart said. The man confronted her and demanded money. The woman gave him her purse, hoping he would leave, Stuart said.

Instead, he forced the woman to walk down her driveway and made her sit on the lawn, Stuart said. The man pulled her hair, knocked her unconscious with a small hammer-type weapon and raped her, officials said.

Authorities describe the rapist as a black man about 30 to 35 years old, weighing 150 pounds and missing two upper front teeth. Officials said he was wearing a white shirt, blue pants and dark shoes. Those with information can call (626) 798-1131.
