Bullfrog update--Anaheim will be playing without its coach, Brad McCaughey. He left the team Tuesday to be with his father, who is scheduled to have triple bypass surgery today. McCaughey hopes to return for the Bullfrogs’ home game Saturday against Los Angeles. The Bullfrogs were beaten by the Blades at the Forum, 9-5, on June 14, but they defeated the Blades at the Pond, 6-5, two weeks ago. Center Victor Gervais has been the Bullfrogs most consistent player lately--scoring three goals with 12 assists in his last four games since returning from a knee injury.
Blade update--Los Angeles is tied with Anaheim for the second place in the Western Conference. Goaltender Jeff Ferguson leads the league with a goals-against average of 5.59. Forward Doug Ast, last week’s Roller Hockey International player of the week, leads the Blades in scoring with 33 points (20 goals, 13 assists).
