President Clinton returned to the golf course Monday for his first full round since rupturing a tendon in his right knee.

With the temperature in the 90s, Clinton donned a wide-brimmed straw hat and set out Monday afternoon for a solo game at Army-Navy Country Club in the Virginia suburbs.

Exactly four months since the injury, White House Press Secretary Mike McCurry said doctors examined Clinton’s knee and “pronounced themselves satisfied that he’s made extraordinarily good progress in his recovery.” He tore the tendon after stumbling on steps at the Florida home of golf pro Greg Norman.
