Visual Artist Osorio to Give Free Slide Lecture

Visual artist Pepon Osorio will present a free slide lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday at Self-Help Graphics, 3802 Cesar E. Chavez Ave., Los Angeles, as part of “The Participation Project,” an initiative of the Getty Research Institute for the History of Art and the Humanities that explores links between art making and civic participation.

The presentation will be followed by a discussion on art and social/community issues. Osorio’s lecture coincides with Saturday’s opening of his exhibition, “Badge of Honor,” at the Otis College of Art and Design in Westchester.
