Sgt. Dave Stanko has been chosen as the Police Department’s new spokesman.
The 20-year police force veteran will head the department’s community services bureau. He succeeds Sgt. Glenn Deveney, who retired last month.
In addition to his public relations role, Stanko will be in charge of coordinating the Drug Abuse Resistance Education, known as DARE, as well as Neighborhood Watch programs and other crime prevention activities.
Stanko, 49, is an Orange resident, a member of the board for the Fullerton Boys and Girls Club and the Fullerton South Rotary Club. He has worked as a patrol officer and narcotics and investigation detective.
