Community Health Clinic Targets Low-Income Area

Share

A new community health clinic that provides services to people with limited access to health care has opened its doors.

The Arroyo Vista Family Health Center will offer primary health care, prenatal care and other services to the largely low-income immigrant population in the community. The center at 221 N. Broadway can serve about 260 people a day.

The clinic will serve a vital need in the community, Assistant Director Martin GutieRuiz said.

The Lincoln Heights area is designated as a medically underserved community, with about 5,200 doctors for every resident--double the national average.

Arroyo Vista also has a clinic in Highland Park, and is planning to open a facility in El Sereno.
