To address residents’ concerns about crime on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, an anti-crime advisory committee formed by state Sen. Betty Karnette (D-Long Beach) and various law enforcement agencies is scheduled to hold a series of public meetings next week.

Karnette will join Palos Verdes Estates police, the Los Angeles Police Department, the Los Angeles Fire Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday to answer questions about crime prevention and fire safety. The committee also will answer questions about pending crime legislation and problems.

The meeting will be held at the Peck Park Auditorium in San Pedro at 5:30 p.m. Karnette is also planning a series of meetings in Long Beach, Lakewood and Downey over the next week.
